Yoga at my home with my furries

I am now offering new courses teaching from my home amidst my furry family. I would like to run both my online courses. Yoga for Rest & Recovery, and Yoga for Connection, in-person and from my own home in St Leonard’s on Sea. I have space for 4 humans to participate in these weekly courses. Prices dates and times to be confirmed soon.

I can also offer one-to-one, in-person yoga and mentoring sessions from my home as well. Carers are also welcome to come along and join in at no extra cost

This is an interest gathering post. Please register your interest if you would like to attend such sessions or would like more information.

The animals

At home I have 2 indoor free roam giant rescue rabbits, Emmy Lou Willow Bella Bear the French Lop (Willow) and Teddy the Giant Continental. I also live with Bubba Boy aka Asher my darling, very loving and affectionate oriental rescue cat and Frida Plum the now elderly Hungarian puli who has grown up with yoga and is now so over it she will probably sleep in the other room all the way through class and you will be lucky to catch sight of her.

My animals are deeply loved and allowed to be themselves, and as a result they are very human friendly and human tolerant. The joys of practicing yoga with bunnies hopping over you and a cat snoozing on your belly can only be described once you have experienced it. (Admittedly not for everyone)

My animals for me are therapy animals. As someone who grapples with human contact, and sensory issues myself, I get inordinate comfort and companionship from their presence and I feel that the presence of such soft sweetness can help some of us overcome the scariness of doing new things such as yoga.

The Yoga

I am offering two at home courses, the first will be a more active all levels of experience community course where we will practice classical hatha yoga combined with restorative poses. Much more info coming very soon…

The second course will be a restorative and recovery focus with bolsters and cushions and slow still practice more focussed on recovery. Much more info coming very soon…

Accessibility information

I currently live in a flat on the first floor of a Victorian house, meaning there is a staircase to navigate to get to the space. (step count coming soon) It is with huge regret that this does make these particular home classes inaccessible to many disabled folks and I am sorry about this. I am there in any way I can be to help you navigate the stairs for those of you who can do so with support and carers are 100% welcome to come along and join in, we will simply make room. For folks interested in working with animals and yoga in this therapeutic way who cannot use the stairs I can work with you in your space or a hired space with Frida my dog, (note: I wouldn’t bring the rabbits or cat as it isn’t fare to them to take them out of their safe space).
