We will begin our journey together with a relaxed introductory afternoon of yoga, deep relaxation, breathing, meditation and mentoring
Our focus here will be getting to know each other and establishing your vision for your ongoing practice.
There will be time to share your body story to date, your identity, and your yoga story if you have one, as well as time for an introductory exploration of yoga, pranayama, meditation and guided relaxation practices. You may be absolutely brand new to yoga, have many years of experience or be somewhere in-between. Whatever your previous experience we will work together from where you are now with the vision of gently moving towards wherever it is you want to go.
Together we will make a loose plan of how we will move forward together with your mentoring and one-to-one sessions for the rest of the intensive programme and beyond…
A combination of ongoing one-to-one yoga, mentoring and structured self-practice, flexibly scheduled. We will work together every step of the way, exploring what works for you and what doesn’t, in a comfortable, safe, and supported way

These intensives are suitable for beginners and experienced students alike. Sessions can be held online using zoom, or in my home in St Leonards on Sea, or a combination of both. One suggestion if you don’t live in Hastings is to plan a weekend in Hastings for your introductory mentoring afternoon and enjoy the beautiful coast and time by the sea. We can then continue with our ongoing sessions online via zoom. The afternoon of yoga can also be shared beautifully over zoom where an in-person meeting isn’t possible.
Hi I am Janice Kate I’m a non binary, fat, queer, artist and body positive/fat positive yoga teacher, born and raised in Liverpool, now living in St Leonard’s on Sea, Hastings.
My teaching is mostly influenced by a long term, traditional Classical Hatha Yoga training. In the last few years I’ve been on a journey both in my own practice and teaching, to incorporate more accessibility and restful recovery in yoga. I’ve been exploring practices such as restorative yoga and yoga nidra which now hugely influence my teaching too.
This call will be an opportunity for you to ask me any questions at all about my teaching style, about yoga, or about anything else. We can explore what you hope to get from an intensive practice as well as any concerns you may have. We can chat about anything from physical adaptations, to difficulty in concentrating, to fat-phobia, to what your relationship has been like with yoga and/or with your body and movement to date, to whatever you bring to the table to help you explore whether this programme is for you. If you decide to go ahead with the mentorship intensive we can schedule in your afternoon workshop and ongoing sessions
