Yoga for deep rest and recovery

These still and restful classes are inspired by Restorative Yoga and SIvananda Yoga. We will loosely follow elements of the Sivananda sequence, but postures will be explored with lots of supportive cushioning so they can be held effortlessly encouraging a natural drop into deep relaxation

You will need some props to get the full benefit of these sessions, but that doesn’t mean you have to run out and buy expensive gear.

Bolsters are great and designed for purpose however we tend to have so much around the home that we can also use, such as pillows, sturdy cushions, pillow cases filled with soft clothes, folded blankets and so on.

All classes through Light Yoga Space share the same goals, to create accessible, non-competitive, safe, welcoming, online, community classes that prioritise the needs of people with diverse and marginalised body types whilst welcoming every one along.

You are welcome to have your cameras on or off. If your camera is on you will get more personal guidance. If your camera is off you can enjoy privacy and anonymity.

Class numbers tend to be small and friendly usually between 2-8 people, although nobody will be turned away and classes may be bigger.

Janice Kate (they/them) - your yoga teacher

Hi I’m Janice (they/them) a body positive, fat friendly yoga teacher

I have over 30 years of yoga experience in Classical Hatha Yoga in the Sivananda tradition and have been teaching for 20 years. More recently in my own practice I have been exploring yoga for deep rest and healing, namely Restorative Yoga, Accessible Yoga and Yoga Nidra which have had a huge influence on my offerings as well.
