Course 1

  • Warming Up

    Exploring gentle warm up stretching and body awareness, creative ways to get up and down off the mat, and slow and accessible sun salutations.

  • Meditative forward bending

  • Open hearted back bends 

  • Chats about upside downness.

    Exploring wall or bolster supported leg inversions. Lying on the mat with our legs inverted against the wall has so many incredible benefits for the spine, lower back, legs, heart, and most of all stimulates the rest response in the nervous system.

  • Let’s bring this all together with a sequence of poses enjoying all the practices explored in 1-4 as a complete sequence ending with a gorgeous deep guided relaxation practice 

Course 2

Sundays. 11:00 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. 29th October - 26th November

  • Another look at warming up with awareness, including creative ways to get up and down off the mat, leading to slow and accessible sun salutations. Also a peek at sitting comfortably.

  • A sequence of poses with extra focus on exploring bending the spine forward and backward.

  • We will revisit being upside down starting off with chats about upside downness. Exploring wall or bolster supported leg inversions. Students who may want to explore inverting more of the body will also be offered the opportunity, space, and support to do so.

  • We will play with gently twisting the spine to wring out the tension like water from a sponge and grounding, standing and balancing poses.

  • Concluding the course and the year with a gorgeous relaxation session of yogic breathing, guided relaxation and meditation.
